Level Up – Year Program

Level Up is a year-long program that supports emerging artists in developing their professional practice. Through talks, workshops, and speeddates, participants explore key aspects of entrepreneurship in the arts and gain practical tools for their careers.

This ticket grants you access to all events included in the Level Up Year Program. One ticket is all you need to participate in the full series.

13/09/2025 | NAP+

Prior to the opening hours of NAP+—an accessible and innovative art fair in Amsterdam—we are organizing Breakfast Speeddates in collaboration with the fair. These morning sessions, complete with coffee and croissants, offer participants the opportunity to engage in informal yet focused conversations with participating gallery owners and gain insights into the dynamics of artist–gallery relationships.

Participants are grouped based on their practice and rotate through 20-minute sessions with different gallerists. These conversations provide space to ask questions about topics such as collaboration, representation, pricing, visibility, and other aspects of the art market.

After the sessions, all participants receive free access to the fair and are welcome to explore NAP+ at their own pace.

22/11/2025 | Level Up @Nieuwe Instituut

On November 22 at Het Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam, Level Up hosts a full-day event featuring artist and collector talks, interactive workshops, and networking sessions with professionals. The day ends with an informal networking drink. The working language is English.

Spring 2026 | Prospects @Art Rotterdam

During Art Rotterdam, the Mondriaan Fund annually presents the exhibition Prospects, which aims to increase the visibility of emerging artists. The 2024 participants of Prospects have each received financial support from the fund through the Artist Start grant, intended for artists who have been working professionally for one to four years. This stipend supports the development of new work and artistic practice, including research, materials, equipment, and projects both in the Netherlands and abroad.

Online Speeddates

In January and June, we organize online speeddates for emerging artists, offering one-on-one conversations with experienced art professionals. These 15-minute sessions provide an opportunity to ask focused questions on topics such as marketing, grant applications, and building a professional network.

A calendar is made available for participants to sign up for time slots. Based on the registrations, we curate a diverse group of professionals from the art field who are ready to engage with and advise the artists.

To provide emerging artists with a clear overview of relevant organizations and essential information, we give access to resources to help artists navigate the cultural landscape and offers insight into key areas such as:

• Funding and financial opportunities: An overview of available grants and subsidies
• Professional development and networking: Access to workshops, seminars, and networking events that support artistic growth
• Cultural institutions and organizations: A guide to key players within the arts and culture sector
